– And why should anyone know that, – the man reproached the woman, – we lived peacefully, and now what?
The woman is silent, because she has nothing to say in response. The man is really right. They have been married for 25 years, lived in prosperity and recently celebrated the wedding of their only daughter. Her husband is a wonderful well-mannered guy from a wealthy family. They communicate well with matchmakers, often see each other on holidays.
– My husband was brought up by my grandmother, after the wedding we lived with her, then she left, and we got our own place.
The husband and wife worked hard all their lives to live in prosperity and provide a good future for their daughter. But the man did not like to boast of his own wealth and believed that happiness loves silence. So his daughter went to the usual school, and then she entered the university on a budget.
– We bought our daughter an apartment on credit when she turned 10 years old. The installment was given for 10 years, but we did not tell anyone about it.
The woman had a large family – sisters, cousins and a brother with a sister. They all lived normally, but did not bathe in luxury.
A few years ago, we decided to make repairs in the apartment and close it until she got married. She just then began to communicate with her future husband. Who knew that the in-laws decided to move out of town, and planned to leave their home to the young.
At a family meeting, we decided that the young family will live with her husband, and we will rent this apartment. And then the first client was to come to inspect the apartment, and you know who it was – the son of a cousin.
They never called the young man directly, so the phone numbers were not alarming. But the boy could not fail to recognize his aunt, even if she was a cousin. As a result, they did not agree on the price. The guy always hinted that they were relatives and that he would like to be offered a lower price.
That same evening, my older sister called:
– Why didn’t you tell me that your house was empty? My daughter and her husband rent an apartment with terrible conditions, and they would have lived in your place. They would have paid the utilities and added something on top. Why do you need so much money?
The woman thought about the situation for a long time:
– “But my husband and I decided that we would rent our apartment to strangers. We earned for this apartment by our own work, and retirement is not far off. We will have money for food from the rent at least. And relatives have arms and legs, let them earn for themselves. I did not ask anyone for any help.
– It would be better if we were talking about difficult situations – the man says – something with health. It is a sin not to support. And so … I have arms, legs, everything I can do.
