I met my first love right after high school. I was so overwhelmed with emotion that I immediately started imagining our future together. We got married quickly, without a second thought. Yes, the first serious feelings are always devoid of reason.
We had a gorgeous big wedding, which was held at a country estate. We partied for three days, as our customs dictated. My mother was happy that I had found my one man. Her wedding present was the apartment she had inherited from her grandmother. It was an apartment in a new house that needed repairs. But that wasn’t important at the time. The main thing was that my husband and I had a roof over our heads.
My mom didn’t step aside after the wedding. She gave us all her savings so we made repairs. There was also enough money to completely furnish our apartment.
It seemed like my life had turned into a fairy tale, but at my wedding my father met a young woman and fell in love. I felt very sorry for my mother. She continued to rejoice in my happiness, regardless of the fact that her life was completely ruined. Dad didn’t just leave Mom and go off to another woman. He somehow wrote her out of their apartment together and sold it. I will never forgive my father for doing such an abominable thing to my mother.
After my parents officially divorced, my mother became very ill. That’s what allowed him to hustle up and leave mom on the street. While my mother was being treated in the hospital, I was looking for a housing solution for her. She was admitted to the hospital with a stroke, so she needed daily care.
I decided to take my mother to my home to care for her and help her with everything. My husband and I have two rooms, about 70 square meters. I thought that would be enough for three people to live in comfort. After the stroke, my mother became very quiet, spoke very little and had difficulty moving around.
This situation opened my eyes to my husband. He demanded that I find another place for my mother to live. He explained that he couldn’t imagine his life with his mother-in-law and that she would bother him. But as I said earlier, my mother gave me this apartment and she also did the repairs.
I did not fight with my husband, I just kicked him out. And you know, that didn’t make me unhappier. If a man, at the very beginning of your life, allows himself such an attitude toward the woman he loves, sooner or later he will leave you for another woman. I have a good example. The lesson I learned from my father was learned for life.
After the hospital, I took my mother to live with me, just as I had planned. At first it was hard on my soul, but I didn’t want to see my father or my husband. Mom is slowly getting better, although she will never be as cheerful and lively as before. But this is my mother, and my duty as a daughter, to take care of her to the last. And then we’ll see how we get on with our lives. It’s a good thing I didn’t have time to get pregnant.
