When the girl was 17 years old, her parents split up and she and her mother moved away. The parents exchanged the apartment, and bought a simple apartment in the area for half of the mother’s share. The father married another woman. He tried to explain to his daughter what love is and the reason for his departure. She said nothing in response. She and her mother have nothing to live for but love. Nevertheless, she entered the institute in the capital, began to attend classes, and eventually she was allocated a room in the dormitory. The room could accommodate only four people. There was a kitchen and all the amenities in the corridor. Her father lived in the city with his new wife, but the girl never went there. Her father did not invite her. She studied well, but she still had no friends. One of the guys in the group noticed her. He also lived in the dormitory.
Every weekend the girl went to her mother’s house, on Monday she returned with gifts and treated her friend to tea. He told her about his family, about his house. He told her how many pets they had in their house. He especially loved cats. She studied a lot and almost never went anywhere. She understood that her behavior was influenced by her parents’ divorce. She never forgave her father, and they became close only with a friend. Then he got together with another girl and began to visit her less often. They graduated from the institute and went their separate ways. She rented an apartment, worked, had little money, had to support her mother and could not afford anything extra.
Her mother became increasingly ill and needed more money for medicines. The father did not help them, despite the fact that he had no children from his new marriage. The girl was his only child. She did not know where to get the money. Her mother was prescribed a new course of treatment, but the pills were expensive. The girl borrowed the money. And once, when she was hurrying home after work, and thought how to repay the debt, she almost got under the wheels of a car. The driver was the same friend from the dorm. He was wearing a solid suit, driving a cool car and immediately recognized the girl. So they resumed their relationship, but as a couple. He took over the maintenance and treatment of her mother. And soon he proposed to her. Unlike her parents, the girl was happy in marriage.
