Everyone’s wife is like a wife, but I got some kind of dumb idiot. She bragged to her parents, saying that we could easily buy an apartment after the wedding, because the guests had given us a gift and the family would help, but in fact her parents said that since she had the idea to marry a “worthless realtor” at the age of twenty, without an education, we would think of something to do with housing, too. They literally scoffed at our situation, and I had to take my wife to my parents’ house. My brother and his pregnant girlfriend already live there, and there’s very little space to turn around. My parents hinted that it would be nice to move out at least a rental apartment, but I decided to save up, so that then only an acceptable loan to take and buy at least one house. Wife was well aware of my plans, said she was anxious to move out, and what she did in the end? She bought shares with our savings.
What for? To exaggerate our savings.
My mom almost fainted when I told her. My heart goes out now, too, because our stock price is going down, and it takes time to sell it. We’re going to lose some anyway, or we have to take our chances and wait and hope that one day they’ll go up. That’s it, all the friends have families and apartments, and we have stocks!
My wife is crying, regretting that she fell for an Internet site that promised a mountain of gold. She also paid money to the scammers to “teach” her how and where to invest. And I can’t stop thinking about divorce. My love isn’t so strong if I can’t let go of the situation and all I can think about is the money I’ve been earning for months, saving for years, and now it’s all turning to dust little by little.
If you think about it that way, our marriage was going wrong from the beginning, and this situation proves once again that I’m going through a perpetual black streak because I married an empty-headed girl.
