My husband and I really wanted children. We had a big three-room apartment. My husband has a high-paying job. So financially we were ready for it. For four years after the wedding I tried to get pregnant. But it didn’t work.
I went to the doctor. I decided that I needed to be checked, to take all the tests. Fortunately, the doctor did not confirm my fears about infertility and said that I was quite healthy.
– Tell your husband to come for a check-up.
I was afraid that my husband would refuse. But he did not mind and the next day he took time off work and went to the clinic. He came home in the evening upset. He did not answer my calls and messages.
– I didn’t want you to be upset. The doctor said I couldn’t have children.
I thought for a long time what to do now. After all, I did not want to give up the opportunity to hold a baby in my arms.
There was an option of artificial insemination. However, my husband refused this idea.
I suggested adopting a baby from an orphanage. My husband thought a little and agreed. But we wanted to do everything secretly so that no one would guess that it was not our child.
We moved with my husband to another city for six months. He worked as a programmer, so he could easily do everything remotely. And so we would return with the child, and everyone would be told that my pregnancy and childbirth took place in another city.
We agreed on everything and we had to give the baby right from the maternity hospital. The one that was abandoned by the parents. My husband and I were very happy.
We were waiting for seats when a nurse called us and said that we could come to pick up the child. She brought us a baby who was sleeping sweetly. I took him in my arms and hugged him. Inhaled his smell. I can’t put into words the emotions I felt then. It was a boy. He immediately became my family. Not for a minute did I consider him adopted. He was mine.
A week later we returned to our hometown. We received congratulations from friends and relatives. Since then, I have been fully and completely immersed in motherhood.
But one evening, I lost consciousness. My husband immediately called an ambulance. I was taken for examination. The doctor told me the words I had been waiting for all my life: “You are pregnant”.
But my husband took this news very negatively.
– “Who did you cheat on me with? How can you be pregnant if I am infertile?” he was angry. And I did not know how it happened. After all, I had no other men. I tried to calm my beloved down. We agreed that tomorrow he would go to the same clinic where he was given a disappointing diagnosis and find out what was wrong.
The next day, my husband returned home with a huge bouquet of flowers and a ring. He apologized.
The doctor explained that sometimes it happens. A glitch. And now he is quite healthy.
Eight months later we had a daughter, and now I am pregnant with my third. However, this pregnancy is difficult for me. It happens – we could not have any children, and now we will be parents of many children.
Do you think women deserve the happiness of motherhood?
