Some women claim that they do not want to get married at all, but I really question this and do not believe it at all. Every woman dreams to be loved, to be cared for and appreciated. Also, many girls since childhood dream to get married, to be in a beautiful white dress and even in the center of attention throughout the evening.
However, men often force their beloved to give up this dream, a good example is my friend.
She lived in a civil marriage for ten years, they really loved each other, were happy together. They raised an eight-year-old daughter together, took care of each other, earned money, had everything in common, except for one thing – a stamp in their passport.
Who would have known that this family would face such a tragedy. The man was on his way to work when he had a heart attack. Because of this, he abruptly lost control of the car and crashed into a pole. He was dead before the ambulance arrived. The woman that day did not even know what happened to her husband. Officially, she was not his wife, so only his mother was informed about the tragedy.
My friend was shocked when her husband’s friend called in the evening and told her about the accident. The woman just did not know what to do next and with a child who needed to be put on his feet.
I told them that they should legalize the relationship, but in response I always heard the same thing:
– We don’t need it, we love each other and we are raising a child together. How can marriage in the registry office change anything?” – my husband repeatedly told me.
That evening, the woman called her mother-in-law to find out where her husband was, when the funeral would be, but the answer of her husband’s mother shocked her:
– Who are you anyway?
– What do you mean who? I am your son’s wife.
– There is no stamp in your passport, so you are not his wife.
– How can you say that? We raised a child together.
– I know! The child should not be dragged to the funeral, it will be a psychological trauma for him, and I will bury my son myself as I see fit. Keep your nose out of it!
The woman then cried in despair all night, and in the morning through friends began to find out where the funeral would be. She just wanted to say goodbye to the closest and dearest person with whom she had lived for so many years.
All relatives and friends stood near the mother-in-law. No one came up to the woman, did not support her – but she lost a loved one.
Then the mother saw the woman and spoke at the top of her voice:
– “Why did you come? You are nobody!
– Don’t say that, I am his wife, – the woman said with tears in her eyes.
– My son had no wife!” the mother whispered angrily.
Although everyone around knew that they lived together and had a child, she was not accepted into the family. No one stood up for the woman, just everyone pretended that nothing was happening. The woman said goodbye to her beloved and left.
In the evening I came to comfort my friend a little. She was in a terrible state, the woman could not come to terms with the loss of her beloved, and the way his mother acted only caused even more pain. I decided then to ask why they had not signed:
– My husband did not consider it important, and I understood that it was just a formality, so I did not insist on it. I knew that he loved me and my daughter and cared about us.
– This was enough for you, but not for his mother, they never recognized you. I do not understand men who love their women but do not marry.
A week later, the woman received another blow – her mother called and told her to take her things and leave the apartment, because it was her mother who inherited it after the death of her son.
The woman first lived with me for a month, and now she is renting a small apartment. Now it is even harder for her, because she needs to support herself and her daughter and to rent an apartment. In the future, they will go to court, because half of the apartment should have been given to the daughter, it is unknown what machinations the mother-in-law resorted to.
So I urge men to marry the women you love. So you will protect your loved ones!
Is it so hard?!
