The woman was in a bad mood today. In such a mood, just give a reason – and a person will want to tell what is boiling and raging in his soul.
– So why should I love this girl! As if she has done me at least something good … – the elderly woman was indignant – But how to complain and sulk – so she is in the forefront. And for what! We did not want to settle them in the apartment, you see. In the one that is for rent! And they did not register their grandson – and then she said that we would never see him at all!
The girl became the wife of her son three years ago, and all this time there was a cold war between mother-in-law and daughter-in-law.
– They did not even invite her parents to the wedding! – the woman complains. They say, they will just sign, they still need money for the mortgage, they should not arrange a holiday … Well, that’s fine, and then I found photos online … From the wedding, which allegedly did not happen! The son justifies himself, says – they were celebrating with friends. The girl’s parents were not there either – they live far away, so what do they care. And we are here, close. But they do not need us.
Before this event, the woman and her husband were really planning to settle the young family in a one-room apartment, which they had previously rented. The son and his bride seemed to be even happy with this idea – it would be much more economical than renting an apartment. And they would have saved up for the notorious mortgage faster.
– Of course, we did not promise them anything, the husband said – we’ll see … But it was such an opportunity!
And then thunder sounded in the form of a wedding, which was celebrated without parents. And the older generation harbored a grudge. They no longer had to dream about an apartment.
But, as it turned out, the girl was already set to move to the notorious one-room apartment. She had already figured out how to arrange the furniture there and what curtains to buy! Of course, there was an ugly quarrel, after which the parents did not communicate with their clumsy son and arrogant daughter-in-law for about six months. But still, the children came to congratulate them on the New Year – and the woman noticed the daughter-in-law’s obviously round belly.
– Well, this is, of course, a joy. The only son, the first grandson!” – the woman still can not hold back a sad smile. “I advised the girl to see a doctor, and found a stroller, and was always ready to help with advice. But somehow it is all in one direction …
Indeed, the girl gratefully accepted new children’s furniture, and clothes for the future baby, and the numbers of trusted doctors … But she never did anything for her mother-in-law, even congratulated her on her birthday this year late in the evening – apparently, her son still reminded. The woman attributed everything to the fast delivery, to the troubles, but doubts remained …
And so they came to the next family scandal – over the registration of the grandson.
– “They asked to register the child with us!” – the woman recalls. “They just came out of the hospital, immediately to us, to ask. Well, I said so – this is not an easy matter, it is easy to register, then you can not discharge …
Here the conflict went so far that the girl got angry and said – if so, then you will not see your grandson.
– We have no grandson now, as she said. Well, what can you do – the main thing is that he is alive and healthy …
He is already three years old, but for the first and last time grandparents saw the baby on the same day of discharge from the hospital.
– And the son does not call, does not write …. – the woman sighs. – Well, at least, the girl literally lives in social networks – she posts a bunch of photos of her grandson, shows walks, shoots videos … At least that’s how we see him.
And recently the son got in touch with his mother. But – not just like that.
It turned out that the girl was quite seriously ill. Her life was not in danger, but the young woman urgently needed surgery, and then some time to spend in the hospital. And so the son called to ask his father and mother to take their grandson to take care of him.
– “Yes, and I said – we can’t see him, we don’t have any grandson!” – the woman shrugs, “You remember what your wife said. If she changes her mind – let her tell you about it herself. If she asks for help like a human being – we will help, but there is no court …
