She was discharged in a day with a newborn daughter.
-“My husband said, it’s good that it’s the first girl! She will help us when she grows up. We want a second one for sure. Have you already bought everything?
-My mother-in-law bought everything, she does not trust her son – the girl said quietly and pointed to the third bed. -Let her sleep, she was just transferred here in the evening. Otherwise, they will bring us children to feed soon, they will scream and wake us up for sure.
-What’s wrong with her? Something serious happened?” the girl rounded her eyes.
-“I don’t know, the baby seems to be fine,” the second one whispered.
The woman on the third bed moved and slowly turned to her neighbors. She was obviously older than her neighbors.
-“Don’t whisper. I’m not sleeping. Everything is fine with my girl, I just don’t have the strength yet.
-Oh, sorry.
-Get ready, the kids are coming, you hear? -The girl laid down more comfortably for feeding.
They brought them in. In transparent cradles, babies opened their mouths and shouted something. They asked to eat.
-Mothers, take it apart! And you, dear, were told not earlier than tomorrow – she told her neighbor.
-“Thank you, I know,” the woman said quietly, with a happy smile.
The well-fed babies were soon taken away. And the woman from the third bed slowly got up and went to the window:
I live!” – she looked around, feeling surprised looks.
She was silent, leaning on the windowsill. And then she spoke:
-We had a daughter. She finished school. We went to the lake to celebrate with the company. My daughter was not very good at swimming… On the water… And the worst happened… I thought I was going to die, I could not believe it
My husband supported me, somehow life went on, like in a dream.
And then suddenly – I’m pregnant!
And I am almost forty-five. The labor started early. My husband said – if anything, I am the most important.
And I told them in the ward – if there is a choice, the main girl… I do not want such a life if I lose my daughter again!
-The birth started unexpectedly. They told me – come on, pull yourself together. I heard the girl’s voice, and I don’t remember anything else … And suddenly …
-I don’t know, maybe you’ll think I’m imagining things, but I need to talk. I didn’t think I would feel like this.
Where I am, what I am – I do not understand. Then I felt – I am not on Earth.
I can’t see myself and it’s dark around. I have never felt such loneliness in my life! Then the loneliness began to recede
And suddenly I feel – something is approaching me. A warm, light, good something is approaching. But what is not clear, there is no shape. And… I can’t even tell you, I can’t find the words. It communicates with me. Neither words, nor thoughts, nor images. I cannot express what it was, there are no words to convey it.
Everything suddenly became clear to me! Everything, how life is arranged, well, everything! And I also realized – my home is there, it’s good there. I want to stay there, I don’t want to leave!
But suddenly a quiet voice came from far away. I heard a child’s voice. Quiet, weak.
And… I was ordered to return.
I didn’t want to at all, but they made me understand – it’s not time yet. And when the time comes, then yes. We’ll all be there.
It was hard to bring me back…
-“I thought that everything was so hard… And then, suddenly I heard voices, light, everything was floating around!
She’s back, she’s back, everything is fine! And the doctors are working on me.
-I don’t know what it was, what I understood about life – they didn’t let me remember. But now everything is valuable for me.
Every leaf or blade of grass. Every second.
And she cried, mourning everything she had experienced, and even mourned the unexpected joy.
The neighbors of the north calmed her down.
-“You have changed somehow, you have wisdom in your eyes.
-“Well, yes, I gave birth to a person, our daughter. It’s an extraordinary miracle, you know?” The woman hugged her husband.
-“Thank you for telling us this,” the neighbor whispered quietly.
The husband was already running to her, took the child, kissed his wife. And now, more than ever, she felt how beautiful, how wonderful life is.
And let this unusual, strange woman and her little daughter be happy.
Life gave her another chance and she deserved it…
