We met her by chance. It was a wonderful meeting. I’ve only seen this in movies. She slipped and fell on the ice, and I, like Superman, helped her, then took her home. At home, her six-year-old son was waiting for us. We immediately got along with him and had a good talk. It was obvious that he liked me, and he seemed nice to me.
The next day I came to find out how she was feeling. Her son was not at home. He had gone on a four-day excursion. It was a great opportunity to get to know her better. We had a great time with her. We started a whirlwind romance. We realized that a happy, bright future awaits us. A few months later I proposed to her. She, of course, agreed – with joy. After I moved to live with them, I realized that the only purpose of my life was to raise and support my wife’s son.
I received a little money and spent it all to satisfy the boy. And he was constantly asking for something, sometimes even demanding. When I asked her why she did not demand alimony from her ex-husband, she said that she did not need anything from him. And she set a kind of ultimatum, saying that if I love her, I have to love her son – as my own. And I can not pretend to love someone else’s child as my own, to sacrifice myself to support him. I understand that eventually we will have to part with her. The boy is very demanding, and I cannot work and live only for him. And she naturally lives only for her son and will not agree to other conditions. I am not one of those men who love other people’s children as their own. Someone else’s child will always be someone else’s. And women should not demand what cannot be.
