I am 37 years old. I have been divorced from my husband for a long time. For ten years exactly. He decided to cheat on me and I haven’t forgiven him. Now he lives with that woman.
She gave birth to him and he married her. After that I preferred not to talk to him. So I don’t know what is going on there.
I have enough money – the salary is good. And then a week ago my ex-boyfriend comes to see me. We had not seen each other for years. So I was genuinely surprised to see him. I really wanted to tell him off, but he started the conversation first. He said that his son had been diagnosed with cancer. And the treatment will be expensive. He and his wife didn’t have that kind of money, so he decided to come to me.
I have the right amount of money, because I recently sold the house I inherited from my grandmother. He got wind of it and came to get the money. After all, it happened at the right time. How lucky for him everything turned out.
I hadn’t decided what I was going to spend the money on. I have always wanted to buy a new car, but first I need to learn how to drive. And I don’t have much time. Whatever the case, but the amount of money is decent. And I was in no hurry to part with it. I wonder if they’d give me the money if I got sick. I doubt it.
“Do you have any idea how desperate we are!” – he tells me. Although he never thought about my feelings. Neither did his wife. After all, at one time he exchanged me for his girlfriend without thinking. And during the divorce, we split everything in half – he didn’t give up anything for the child. He said that everything would come in handy in the new family. And he even wanted to buy an apartment – but I had bought it before we were married. That saved me. Oh, how unhappy he was! And now he’s here, demanding money! He’s talking about his feelings!
He said that if I didn’t believe him, he would provide all the necessary documents. But I don’t need that. I’m not even going to think about it. Even though he swears that they will give it all back slowly. And the baby needs time to rehabilitate. That costs a lot of money, too. Frankly, I doubt I’ll get anything back. Why don’t you borrow from the bank, then? That’s right.
I said it all to his face. He yelled, offered to get down on his knees. But I don’t want that. Why would I want to humiliate him? I just don’t want to know him or see him. He had traded me in his time. Betrayed me. So let him f#ck off. He said he’d come back later when I’d cooled off and thought about it. There’s nothing to think about.
Some might say I don’t have a conscience. Only I want to manage my own money. I won’t share it with anybody else. After this conversation I feel a little bit bad. But I will not help these traitors – there will be a lesson for them and payback for their sins.
