WhatsApp Beta 22.16.0.70 for iOS reveals a new feature coming for groups

The work of WhatsApp’s team of developers aimed at improving this popular cross-platform instant messaging service continues unabated, and in the past few hours the release of a new beta version dedicated to iOS-based devices was kicked off: we are talking about version 22.16.0.70.

What’s new in WhatsApp Beta version 22.16.0.70 for iOS.
In recent weeks it has emerged that the WhatsApp team is working on the possibility of leaving groups silently, that is, without notifying other participants, except for administrators (who can see who has left the group). But all group members will still be able to see who leaves the group using a feature called “past participants.”

This feature has already been unveiled in an earlier version of WhatsApp Beta for Android, and apparently the team of developers has begun work to implement it in the version dedicated to iOS devices as well. According to that screenshot, all group members will be able to see who has left the group in the past 60 days by opening this new section, which will be available right within the group information. Therefore, “past participants” will be removed after 60 days.

This feature is still under development and there is currently no information on when it will be made available to all users through its implementation in a stable version of the application. In addition, some fixes related to the automatic download bug of voice notes should also have been introduced with this update.

Version 22.16.0.70 of WhatsApp Beta for iOS has been released for testers enrolled in the TestFlight beta program, but within a short time the new features introduced in that release should also land on the stable channel of the messaging app. All it takes is a little patience.
