Why do we owe it to adult children all the time?

I am 61 years old, but I have to work because I can’t live on my pension. My daughter gave birth to three children and the whole world owes her for that reason. I have helped for 7 years with everything I could. Both financially and physically. On the weekends I just want to relax, do some personal things. All the more, we live with my 79-year-old mother in the same house. She also needs care and attention. But my daughter thinks that I have to stay at her house all weekends and hours after work and help her. And sometimes I just don’t have the energy.

This leads to constant resentment and nagging from my daughter. I try to explain that I have my own life, that I want to relax, read and watch TV. But there is complete misunderstanding and complaints. My mother is angry that my daughter “sat on my neck. She was strict as a child with her (the only granddaughter), and now she pays her back in kind, communicating coldly. Mom is offended, and I do not want to remind her of everything. And I’m already guilty all around.
