Let me start by saying that I have a 3 bedroom apartment that I inherited (this apartment has been in my family for about 70 years) and a 15 year old son from my first marriage. I’m 36, and recently my 39-year-old lover, Adam, moved in with me. At first the three of us lived together, then Adam said his daughter, 13-year-old Monica, had no place to sleep in her mother’s house. Monica moved in with me. I cleared out my old office for the girl. I moved all my stuff out of there so the girl had some privacy.
Let me tell you right away, Monica’s temper wasn’t great. From the first day of her stay in my house she started throwing moods and tantrums. Monica was not happy with the fact that the closet in my son’s room is larger than “her” closet. Because of this she demanded a new room from me and manipulated my son in every way, like, “Are you talking to me? When you give me your room, then I will think about how to answer you,” – yes, little manipulator.
The thing is, Adam is always defending his daughter. He says he was the same way, and this “temper” will pass with age. Room is not the only requirement. She is very picky about food – a real foodie, you can’t tell anything. Monica can easily say to me, “I don’t eat this stuff, make me something else.” And a week ago she just showed the peak of her impudence. There was a horrible smell coming from her room. I asked her to clean her room, because she wouldn’t let me in her “personal space.
It turned out that I was nobody in her house, and there was no one to call me. Then I got really mad. I said that if she was going to continue to behave so rudely, she could pack her things and go back to her mother; I was not going to tolerate her in my house. Adam came to Monica’s defense. I said all this to him. Now I do not know how to go on our relationship. I hope I haven’t completely ruined it. Although, you know, if he doesn’t respect me and my privacy, he can go away for a long time.
