Some options that can be very useful if we know how to use them, are a secret for many users of Google’s operating system.
Technology continues to advance unstoppably in our days and manufacturers surprise us every time with more complete, comfortable and powerful products. Electronic devices are increasingly in demand and companies are launching new products every year to meet consumer expectations.
Smartphones, tablets, computers and other products of recent years are so complete that it is difficult for the average customer to extract their full potential. The same is true for products running Android 12, Google’s newest phone operating system that can already be found on a wide variety of mobile phones.
This evolution of Android 11, among its new features, brings new privacy tools, a new redesign that brings a more redefined aesthetic, improved security, renewed widgets… However, there are so many possibilities that this operating system allows us, that many users are unaware of some of its hidden functions that are sure to be very useful.
Application design
This new feature that Android 12 brings us will surely be highly valued by the elderly or those with some kind of vision problem. On the phone’s home screen, app icons normally appear in a 4×4, 5×5 or 6×6 layout. This new version, however, allows you to change this layout to 2×2, with larger icons.
Notification history
On the other hand, we have to point out that Android 12 brings us the solution to a very common problem: deleting a notification that we were interested in without realising it. Well, this version allows us to access the notification history via a button to see recently deleted alerts, as well as alerts from the last 24 hours.
An operating system to play with
The phone is an indispensable tool for many jobs and is essential for keeping in touch with friends, family and other loved ones. But, why not say it, it is also a device to escape and have a good time playing games. Google is aware of this and has adapted its Android 12 to create an optimised gaming mode that will enhance the user experience. Thus, the smartphone will activate the ‘Do not disturb’ option while we are playing so that nothing distracts us. This mode must be activated from the phone’s settings in the following way: ‘Settings’-> ‘Notifications’-> ‘Do not disturb’-> ‘Schedules’. When we get to the ‘Schedules’ tab, we must tick the box next to ‘Game mode’ to activate it. Then tap the Settings gear icon and toggle the two items.
Sharing wifi via QR code
This operating system allows you to share access to a wifi network with a QR code. This makes it as easy as scanning it on another phone to gain access.
Bigger, more manageable phones
Nowadays, many mobile phones are getting bigger and bigger, which is good for watching films and series, playing games, taking photos, and so on. However, this feature, which is so positive for some things, also makes it difficult for us when typing with the keyboard in one hand, for example.
This new Android 12 feature moves the top half of whatever is on the screen to the bottom half, making it easier to tap a quick settings tile or a notification. To use it, place a finger on the small bar at the bottom of the phone’s screen and swipe down.
