German electric ATV manufacturer ElectricBrands has unveiled the production version of its minivan, called Xbus. This will be offered in various specifications. But now the company has shown an example in the Camper version, which is a small camper designed for two people.
This variant therefore features a retractable roof, which allows people inside to move upright. At the same time, it is also possible to extend the rear of the car, which extends the sleeping berth. Inside there is a small kitchenette, which includes a fridge, sink and hob.
The vehicle is powered by four in-wheel electric motors, whose continuous power (due to the model’s classification as a heavy quad bike) is only 20 horsepower. However, it can be increased to 75 hp in the short term.
In the basic version, the model will be supplied with a traction battery with a capacity of 10 kWh. However, the capacity of this battery can be increased by adding individual 1.25 kWh modules incrementally up to 30 kWh. Each of these modules will increase the range by approximately 17.5 kilometres. In the end, this gives a range of nearly five hundred kilometres on a single charge.
The Xbus, which measures 394.5 centimetres in length and can carry a load of up to 1,100 kilograms, can reach a maximum speed of 100 kilometres. The vehicle is designed to accommodate other body types on the chassis. For example, a pick-up truck or a box van.
The Camper version has a starting price tag of 30,170 euros. Deliveries to customers are due to start within the next year.
Alongside this Camper, ElectricBrands has also unveiled an urban minivan. Like the rival Microlino, this two-seater model resembles the historic BMW Isetta. Named Evetta, it measures two and a half metres in length and is capable of travelling 200 kilometres on a single charge at a top speed of 90 kilometres per hour.
