The three-wheeled microcar as wide as a motorcycle: it’s the new nimbus one

To get around the city today we are spoiled for choice: we can leave the car at home and use scooters, bikes, motorcycles and electric scooters, there is only one category of vehicles, however, that offers the potential of a car with a small footprint. We are talking about the new electric microcars such as the Citroen Ami and the Microlino produced in Turin.

Today, to stay on topic, we are telling you about the new Nimbus One, which is not a Harry Potter magic broom but an electric microcar with three wheels, two at the front and one at the rear. For a microcar it is really compact, when parked it actually takes up the space of a motorcycle since it is only 86 cm wide-and could almost be classified as a three-wheeled scooter.

Its technical specifications are still being refined, in any case Nimbus promises a top speed of 80 km/h and 150 km of range, which is more than enough for city driving. Nimbus claims that the battery can be charged in as little as 1.2 hours at a Type 2 AC station, or in 5.4 hours at a regular household outlet.

Designed to be released first in the United States, more exactly in Q3 2023, the Nimbus One will also arrive in Europe in Q1 2024. U.S. orders are currently open, all it takes is a $100 deposit and then a deposit of $9,980 for purchase, about €9,750, or $200 per month for rental.
