The Ford Mustang Mach-E GT crosses a line and puts quite a step behind it. During my daily drive, there were times when I cringed and complained under my breath “no no the suspension is definitely too hard,” “but they overdid it with those brakes,” or “don’t jerk like that.” Because the GT version clearly enters sports car territory. And it does so with all four wheels.
Ford Mustang Mach-E GT is not a car for everyone
On a day-to-day basis, the Mach-E GT in this version can really be tiring, because it is surprisingly sporty. Tough, it reacts insanely fast to our every command, no matter whether it’s moving the steering wheel or pressing the accelerator, and if someone gets in our way and we have to brake ourselves (for 90 percent of the ride you use one pedal, and the car brakes itself), the brakes prove razor-sharp. The Mustang literally stands still.
Therefore, if you are not looking for such an uncompromising car, however, I would advise you to take a peek at the weaker Mach-E variants. I would do exactly that myself. Ford has managed to smuggle a great deal of classic pony car DNA into them, they too are irrationally fast, can deliver a lot of driving fun, and at the same time, as befits a modern electric SUV, impress with interior space and technical innovations.
The Mustang Mach-E GT is a step further.
And if one goes for it, they will get an absolutely impressive and crazy SUV.
The Mustang Mach-E has the highest torque in the history of Fords offered in Europe. That’s as much as 860 Nm, which, as it is in electric cars, is available immediately. What’s more, the drivetrain has been specially tuned for the GT version – it transmits more torque to the rear wheels, helped by specially developed Pirelli tires capable of transferring extremely high torque to the road surface. Brembo brake discs with a diameter of 385 mm are responsible for braking.
The GT version’s electric motors deliver as much as 487 horsepower to the driver. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h? A dizzying 3.7 seconds, and probably even less on hot asphalt. Top speed, on the other hand, is 200 km/h. That’s a performance that makes an electrifying impression on any performance car enthusiast. Mach-E is faster not only than its classic brother, but practically all cars on the road.
And, of course, it’s electric. So it tears ahead literally as if launched from a catapult. Because of the lack of vibration and engine sound, for passengers it can be a traumatic experience.
But also for the driver. The Mach-E GT accelerates so fast that we feel the blood rush out of our legs.
