Strong love and great disappointment

When I was 20 years old, I fell in love with a guy who also loved me a little bit, then he dumped me. I suffered so much that even my father became worried about me. A few years later he married my girlfriend, and I suffered again, although I didn’t love him anymore (feelings dull with time).

Later, when I met him by chance, I couldn’t understand how I could love him and suffer so much! No handsome man, lots of extra pounds. He saw me, but quickly looked away, pretending not to notice or recognize me. I pretended not to notice either. Fortunately for me, I looked good; I was well dressed. His wife and my ex-girlfriend also rushed over without “noticing” me. You have no idea how my spirits lifted!

I generally fell in love a lot, and now I have something to remember. But as it happens, I don’t even regret having experienced this undivided feeling. When a person loves, reciprocally or unrequited, he feels happy, uplifted, and he receives more grace from God, who gives him tremendous power.

There was another guy I just adored. My eyes burned whenever I saw him. Of course, there were tears and pain and even a personal journal in which I dotted a few times and kind of forgot him. He’s not a good-looking guy, plain-looking, all my girlfriends said in one voice that he wasn’t worth my little finger, and I didn’t believe it (love is blind). But I liked his inner and outer beauty.
