At least five people, members of the same family, were murdered Sunday in a village in the department of Santa Barbara, in western Honduras, local media reported.
According to the brief information, the multiple crime took place in a pepper farm in the village Arenal.
The victims of the massacre were identified as Joel López, his wife; Elsa Hernández, and their children Fredy, Leiby and Yoly López Hernández.
The parents and one of their children, Fredy, died at the scene of the crime, while Leiby and Yoly died while they were being admitted to a hospital in San Pedro Sula, in northern Honduras, according to press reports, which do not specify details about the causes of the crime, nor the type of weapons with which the five people were attacked.
