I have never understood people who, after breaking up with someone after a while or immediately become friends with them. Some people are even mind boggling – they are friends with their exes for an entire family. But how so? How can you let into your life that it was irritating and essentially destroyed? After all, parting with the person with whom you drew hopes, made plans, dreamed, whom you loved is like a little death.
I’ve noticed that every person I’ve broken up with – when they left, it was as if they took a piece of me – they took away my joy, my happiness, my pleasure, my faith, my hope. And you know what, with every breakup a person changes, at least an iota, they become different. A part of him and his life was taken away, it is not strange that he will never be the same again. What kind of friendship can we talk about after that?
A friend is a person who supports you, never hurt you, and will always be there. Why ex erect in the ranks of friends? In what way can he support and help? Of course, not all people break up on a bad note and not everyone hurts each other too much. But why, why drag the past into the present life? I don’t understand it. What good does it do? And when you meet your ex over a cup of coffee and talk about your current relationship – what does that get you? Some kind of masochism or horrible hypocrisy? How can you talk about your happiness to someone you once loved, with whom you promised to be together until death?
I have broken up three times in my life. Of course, there were mistakes on my part and on the part of my partner. But when my partner told me that he wanted to end the relationship, I had a real panic attack-as if someone was slowly but surely cutting off my oxygen. As much as I could, I tried to do everything I could for our relationship. I tried to remember the good moments, to remind the man how much I loved him, how willing I was to try. If my partner wasn’t happy with my personality, I tried my best to erase it, but only to keep the relationship alive.
I was willing to erase myself in the name of us. But apparently people are not attracted to sacrifice. And when someone shows that he is ready to do anything for the sake of the other, he only tries to get rid of the victim faster. I have never been able to sustain a relationship. And so immediately after the breakup I erased all memories of the man who once did not want to save us, our love. What friendship – what are you talking about, comrades?
All gifts immediately went into the furnace, cards, dried bouquets, a favorite sweater from a formerly beloved man. I deleted all the photos, and in my head I kept repeating to myself every day that nothing happened, there was no relationship and I am not sorry at all, I just don’t care. And you know, in the second week I completely forgot about the fact that there was someone in my life. Life was from a new key, with a new vigor. I was myself again, I was blazing with love for my personality again. In the end, I realized that no one, no person, was worthy of erasing myself for their sake. Much less keep memories of him in my head. There are so many beautiful things in life. Maybe my words sound like a very hurt girl, but it’s true, it’s a sincere feeling, what could be more important?
And how did you break up with your partners? Is friendship appropriate for you after something like this?
