After discovering new details about the Apple Watch Series 8 Rugged, a new rumor about the base model of Cupertino’s smartwatch arrives today that may leave many Apple fans disappointed. Apparently, in fact, the Apple Watch Series 8 will be identical to its predecessor, namely the Series 7 Apple Watch.
Reporting the news is the well-known insider ShrimpApplePro on Twitter, who, with the post you can find at the bottom of this news, explained that the design of the Apple Watch Series 8 will remain unchanged from that of Cupertino’s last-generation watch for both the 41 mm and 45 mm variants. We remind you that ShrimpApplePro has a long list of truthful reports under his belt, and he was also the first insider to explain that iPhone 14 Pro would have a double punch-hole.
Apparently, then, all of Apple’s work would focus on the “Ruggedized” Apple Watch for extreme sports, which is expected to have a titanium case and a more generously sized screen than the base model. In fact, according to leaker Ross Young, the Apple Watch Series 8 will also have a larger screen, albeit only slightly, coming in at 1.99″ diagonal while maintaining a 45 mm case.
Returning to ShrimpApplePro’s leak, the insider also explained that he does not believe Apple will implement new sensors on the base model of the smart watch, which is still expected to go into production later this month. If we consider that the Apple Watch Series 8’s S8 chip will be identical to the Apple Watch Series 7’s S7 chip, then, it seems clear that there will be no major changes under the device’s shell either, which could be practically a “copy” of its predecessor.
In any case, the leaker explained that the new Apple Watch will be launched together with iPhone 14 at Apple’s September keynote and will arrive in Midnight, Starlight and Product(RED) colors for the aluminum versions, and in Silver and Graphite colors for the stainless steel variants.
