I used to date a girl whom I loved very much, but it happened that she started dating someone else.
It’s been 4 years, so we haven’t spoken and she writes me that she broke up with her boyfriend, and she feels it’s only appropriate to share this news with me, not her friends or her parents. I take this to mean that she wants to cry to me to make me feel better and then look for another love.
But I didn’t feel sorry for her and decided not to help her in any way and asked her not to write me anymore, the girl was offended but said she understood that she was hurt. When I asked why she wanted to tell me about the breakup, she didn’t answer.
I want to ask for advice. Maybe I did the wrong thing when I decided not to help her at all? Did I correctly assess the situation? Maybe girls can help me understand this strange situation, why I was remembered and decided to tell and in general to appear in my life.
