A friend came to visit us for a few days with her two children. She started talking and told me her life story.
She herself is from the countryside. She got married in order to get out to the city. At first her parents gave her money for a rented apartment, and then she got a job as a landlord. Of course – a triple in the center of Moscow!
Only Monica didn’t know that the apartment belonged to her parents, not her boyfriend. She quickly got pregnant so she could marry him. But then her parents in law came home to live there. By the way, they had worked abroad before that.
Naturally, the newlyweds were immediately sent to rental housing. But soon the husband got lucky: he joined the Communist Party of the Soviet Union and got a two-room apartment. Life began to play with the old colors. So my second child was born. We made up, fought, but there was no love there.
Five years went by. One day my husband told me he had found another woman. She was a colleague of his. He left Monica and her two children and went off to find happiness. And she was in no hurry to get married, disappointed in men, and the children needed her attention. She bought a country estate and began gardening.
Her husband paid alimony and she worked, so she had enough to live on. The children are good, no problems with them. Now they are already in university and getting higher education. They are her backbone and support.
What about her husband? Her young mistress kicked him out. He now lives in the summer house. Despite the betrayal, her own children take care of him and buy him medicine and groceries and pay for his treatment.
And if they turned their backs on him, he would be homeless. Always think about the consequences before you do something.
