Helena heard the story of a little girl who was abandoned by her parents because of her disability on television. The little girl was blind and completely deaf. Something in her heart clicked, and Helena decided to go to the orphanage to see the little girl.
What more could Helena want?! A great job, a full family with a husband and two grown, healthy children, her own apartment, a dacha, a car. And then something inside said that she needed to visit the child who had been abandoned.
When Helena saw the baby for the first time in reality, she knew immediately that she simply had to take her home. She had to adopt her – it was her girl. I don’t care what anyone says, Helena would do anything to get the child back on her feet.
-Woman, you’ve read her medical history, haven’t you?! The chances of curing her are almost nonexistent. – The principal was talking boisterously.
-Yes, I’ve read it and it doesn’t matter.
-Why do you need an invalid?! It’s not that simple.
-It’s none of your business. She’s my daughter!
After taking Amanda home (that’s what Helena called her daughter), she began to pay all of her attention to her. Every day, they constantly traveled to hospitals. Helena believed that if she could find a good doctor, she could cure her child. At one of the consultations she was told that it is necessary that the child is completely healthy, and then the eyes will make the operation, although there are no guarantees.
Helena’s husband did not share her interests and soon left, but she continued to fight for her daughter. One day Helena ordered a pizza, her doorbell rang. Amanda was frightened and that’s when the woman realized her daughter could hear her.
And when the girl had eye surgery, no one believed – only the mother stood at the door and prayed to God. She truly believed that her daughter would see. When she entered the room, she immediately met Amanda’s eyes. Her little girl, her one-year-old sunshine was now seeing.
No one gave her a chance, but only a mother’s love saved her.
