I have a sister. She recently gave birth to a baby boy. Since her in-laws live in another city, we drove out ahead of time to make it to the discharge.
First we went to my son-in-law’s house. He greeted us in a great mood, although it was obvious that the birth of a son he had celebrated well. His friend was cutting sandwiches, and the kitchen was dirty and smelled awful.
I tried to clean up a little and cook something. At the same time, my son-in-law was calling for all the relatives to come over. What for? For salad and sandwiches? My husband was ballooning and growling nervously in my direction.
Two hours later we left the house. We each drove our own car. My son-in-law said he was going to stop by a flower shop on the way.
All the relatives were circling around the maternity hospital, only Daddy wasn’t there. And Theresa didn’t come out, because her husband had promised to bring her things for the discharge. We stood for about an hour – he’s not there. My sister had even cried into my phone.
As it turned out, first he forgot things, then the bouquet, another hour in traffic stood. My sister was discharged two hours late, my husband and I decided not even to go to their house. And the baby is small, he needs peace, not a party. The young mother could see that she was no longer interested in a party, but the young father stood his ground.
Teresa told me that the relatives stayed up all night. She could not get them out – she just went into the bedroom, closed the door, and fell asleep. In the morning she got up and started cleaning. My husband couldn’t even get his head off the pillow when he was hungover.
I don’t know what I would have done if I had been discharged like that. What kind of people are you? Good for my sister’s husband, too. He didn’t even think about whether she wanted to celebrate or not. Egoist!
